Last updated: May 4, 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") carefully before using the Vaultlet application (the "Service") operated by Vaultlet ("us", "we", or "our").
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
1. Description of Service
Vaultlet provides a command-line interface (CLI) tool for securely managing, encrypting, and synchronizing environment variables and API keys across development teams. The Service utilizes end-to-end encryption to ensure that your secrets are encrypted locally before being transmitted or stored.
2. Account Registration and Security
To use certain features of the Service, you may be required to register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password and cryptographic keys that you use to access the Service. Because Vaultlet uses a zero-knowledge encryption model, we cannot recover your master password or encryption keys if you lose them. You agree not to disclose your password or keys to any third party.
3. Data Privacy and Encryption
We take your privacy and data security seriously. Your secrets (environment variables, API keys) are encrypted locally on your machine using standard cryptographic protocols before being uploaded to our servers. We do not have the ability to decrypt or access your stored secrets. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Store or transmit malicious code, malware, or illegal content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Vaultlet and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
6. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Vaultlet, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
